Wanted to say hello ๐Ÿ– and ask if anyone else has experience this.

I started estrogen very recently, and I've noticed that I am more tired than usual, and a little dizzy?? (Could be unrelated ofc). Wondering if anyone has also experienced this?

I did some basic online research, and it does seem to be a thing. I will of course mention this to my doctor if it keeps ongoing.

Hi!

Anecdotally E does make you a bit more tired and sleepy than usual. The dizziness could be because of changes in BP, are you taking spironolactone by any chance?

You're not taking any t blockers with it? Only E?

Just E for now, but will start T blockers very soon.

I've recently come across the information that testosterone also stimulates red blood cell production and taking blockers in turn reduces the amount of red blood cells compared to before. Since they carry oxygen, you'll become more sleepy thanks to t-blockers.
That effect confirms my anecdotal evidence as well.

That's interesting and makes sense

Puberty requires more sleep than when your body is just existing.

Are you on a testosterone blocker? A too high dose of T blocker is more likely to be the culprit.

When I started E I was exhausted for the first couple weeks. Had to take naps almost every day just to keep up. Just remember that second puberty is taking a lot of energy for your body to initiate, I started feeling less tired around the 4 week mark.

Welcome, lovely to see you here! ๐Ÿ’–

I personally felt fine the first month but then the second month I had to nap in the afternoon because I just couldn't keep my eyes open. It got better again after month three and has stayed that way since. So I guess some early-on shenanigans are normal.

Literally week 2 on E and Spiro and im tired AF, cranky and bitchy, nauseous sometimes, and more emotional. But even with spiro i dont get dizzyness, thankfully.

With stuff like this its always a good idea to talk to your DR, if you have a good one, and assuming youre not a DIYer. If you are DIY, then getting some way to check your blood pressure and heart rhythm would be good, blood pressure cuffs and a stethoscope are decently cheapish online.

Make sure youre drinking lots of water and eating well, our bodies need more fuel for the work theyre doing. Hell ive felt like ive been over eating lately but im still slowly losing weight.

Last bit, maybe consider making a journal of your journey and any side effects like this. I do this, and it seriously helps keep track of it all, especially when hormones start taking over more and more

Best of luck to you โค๏ธโค๏ธ
