Trying really hard to take care of my responsibilities instead of spending every minute messing around with my new PC... So far not going so well πŸ™ƒ

[–] Lexam@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Good luck with that. I don't think I would be able to focus on anything else.

Its my first new personal system in 10+ years and it my first really fast one in I don't know how long. I've got pretty much everything dialed in the way I like it now. ...but I've got games I couldn't play on my old PC to try and local agents to experiment with!

New PC is fun. Did you build it?

[–] CallMeAl@piefed.zip 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Somewhat. I bought a kit bundle from a local shop. The shop pre-installed the motherboard, cpu, and liquid cooler. I had to install the drives, ram, graphics card, and install the OS.

one of the thing I've always liked about linux is that everyone can find what fits them best

Why is one cat on the counter?

[–] Lexam@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

What are you talking about there are two cats on the counter.

[–] eksb@programming.dev 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Oh, I didn't see the 2nd one.

Do the cats have assigned/consistent eating places, or is it just whoever gets to the bowl first?

[–] Lexam@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

They are assigned. They all chose their places and now they don't change. Not pictured is Hazel who gets locked in the basement. Otherwise she will inhale her food, steal everyone else's food, then throw it all up because she ate too fast.

[–] osanna@lemmy.vg 2 points 1 week ago

one of my catties is the same! She's devour her food, then boots my other cat off his food and devour his. My other cat is a slow eater (as in, he usually doesn't finish his food before the next meal is due). I have to walk around the house and take his food to whatever room I'm in, so my old lass doesn't devour his food too. It's annoying, but I care about them both, so i make it work.

My headphone amplifier started making a short buzz every 20 or 30 seconds, and it is driving me crazy.

[–] Lexam@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Can you take it apart and diagnose it?

[–] eksb@programming.dev 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Probably, but it should still be under warranty. I will bring it back to the store.

[–] eksb@programming.dev 3 points 1 week ago

I said probably, but actually probably not. It is a class D amplifier, so it is probably something buried in a integrated circuit.

My psychologist has recommended me to reach out online autism groups to counterbalance my negative experience while growing up with the concept of autism.

I'm deeply uncomfortable with identifying as neuro divergent but I do want to get assessed.

So, to help me, what are some positive things you can say about being ND?

[–] Lexam@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Well at least we're not normal! Those normal people are weird.

[–] Malyca@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 week ago

I just wanted to say I love your cabinets!

I made some strawberry lemonade concentrate and chicken soup in the canner for mother. It's her birthday or mother's day or something around now.

I figured out another thing that makes my wrist hurt is canning. Lifting the quarts and stuff up is painful and the grabby tongs are breaking so. Sore wrist.

All the jars of chicken soup sealed which was a shock. They look ugly as fuck though. The stock is not clear because so much gelatin so it looks like water dirt with sediment at the bottom.

Tastes good though.
