I suppose that, given how our nation was founded to be a nation of, by, and for the super-wealthy, it only makes sense that they're pillaging every last crevice of the Federal Government for their own enrichment. That said, seeing it is so sad.

I'm really, really glad I didn't procreate. The next generations are going to suffer tremendously for the loss of American culture, science, industry, and empire.

Even that makes no sense. Public taxes were paying for science that is then exploited for free by businesses. It's pure stupidity.

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 7 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

It's stupidity if you're not several billions of dollars in debt, and clearing that debt is a matter of easily and unilaterally seizing public money.

In what reality is Trump going to clear his debt?

Don't get me wrong - he's stealing the money - but he's not giving it to ANYBODY else.

fucking insane the way you ghouls say this kinda shit so openly. your beloved "empire" falling would be a net positive for the world and the future generations that would be exploited, raped, and bombed by the US

as for "american culture", the only real example of that was native american culture and the US destroyed that too.

USAmerican culture is just stealing other cultures and shoddily grafting them to itself like some kind of horror movie monster.

Personally; I Would celebrate the eradication of America's empire. Sadly i think the imperial part is the one still heavily funded and guarded; They will dismantle everything else.

Yeah I think the next generations will build something else and better, if we don’t destroy it completely.

The biggest loss in the end will be the creative arts and entertainment I guess. The rest isn’t unique to the US, others will fill those holes. As for the empire that really depends where you stand; it offers no protection for many.

I’m now willing for my country to take its chances in a new world and cut some ties. I want AUKUS and the ANZUS treaty scrapped. It’s not just a few politicians and billionaires that are the problem, the country can’t be trusted now. They’ll do it all again.

Woah don't be too based or someone will call you an antinatalist and hit you with the "then you should just kill yourself."

Depending on what happens in 2028, it will take years, if not decades, to recover from this. Fuck RFK jr with his worm and racoon penis.

[–] yogthos@lemmy.ml 21 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I don't know why people take it as a given that the US has to recover. Seems much more likely that the US is just another failed experiment in ways to organize human society that's destined to collapse.

"Cuz they're white, duh! Only coloureds live in actual shithole countries! White shitholes are just temporarily embarrassed utopias!"

[–] yogthos@lemmy.ml 17 points 3 weeks ago

that does seem to be the main rationale

[–] P00ptart@lemmy.world 5 points 3 weeks ago

I'm not positive well even make it to 2028.

Why this sort of news is so under resported. It’s a lot of things happening weakening America in so many ways that are so under reported.

How people so called patriots don’t see that?

[–] SaneMartigan@lemmy.world 12 points 3 weeks ago

Because "The News" is mostly a bunch of billionaire's public relations machines.

[–] djsaskdja@reddthat.com 1 points 3 weeks ago

You’re commenting on a post of a news article about something that happened and you’re asking why the news isn’t reporting on that something?

[–] magnetosphere@lemmy.world 14 points 3 weeks ago

Too depressing to read. I’m just gonna keep scrolling.

[–] CaptainBlinky@lemmy.myserv.one 6 points 3 weeks ago
