wtf is unnatural causes, were they executed? trampled to death? chem or bio weapons?

Wish I could read the whole article.

A small snippet from the article includes details for a decent number of the deaths:

Among the 518 dead, 490 were male, 21 were children and 16 were security officers, Othman said, adding that 197 had died from shotgun wounds.

But he explained that the death toll could be higher as some victims had been buried without the authorities being told.

More than 2,000 people were injured, including 120 security officers, he added.

Yikes, shotgun wounds, meaning the soldiers just straight up opened fire on a crowd of their own people... Where has our humanity gone?

If you look at the history of massacres of protestors, specifically in the continent of Africa, often times the people doing the shooting are not fellow country men, a lot less people are killed, or not by small arms fire, by comparison this is a real bad one, which is why I responded such.

If you consider the psychological impacts of having to shoot people in front of you, specifically your members of your own "tribe", although I know there are long standing imperial divisions in countries like Tanzania.

It’s why riot cops and other similar security paramilitary (or even straight up military) types are often brought in from other regions - because there’s a much lower likelihood that any of them will identify and sympathize with the protesters. It’s a well-known tactic.

Great point, like I mentioned above it was a tactic used by imperialists too, divide the population into haves and have nots, the haves will typically shoot the have nots to protect what they have... I guess capitalists use it too.

Same as it ever was
