Whoever made that Onion article 12 years ago wasn't interested in putting accurate Arabic in the image.
How can you tell it's written left to right? There's equal space on both sides
Because what's written only makes sense (sort of) from left to right. It says ننتظر الآن والسماح الغرب لتدمير نفسه... but backwards with every letter separated, which is typical of computers which haven't been configured for arabic script
For all we know it could be the last 420 in america.
