I see the Israeli flag as equivalent to the Swastika or Confederate Battle Flag.

They're all symbols of hate.

[–] bearboiblake@pawb.social 105 points 2 months ago

This is why leftists and even liberals need to demand anti-zionist leaders. We do NOT want the far-right to be leading the fight against zionism.

[–] mlxdy@lemmy.world 74 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Party from which he comes from is equivalent of German AFD. They are hating jews like they hate LGBT people. One of the ex-leaders of party is known for saying that "Hitler didn't know about holocaust" and sending birthday wishes to Vladimir Putin calling him "your excellence". And this guy with this swastika was drinking vodka at the rostrum.

Far right fuckface tries to make a point using a swastika.

Gus Fring meme.

We are not the same.

I saw a couple Israeli flags on houses recently and it was the same to me as seeing the Nazi flag. Audible what the fuuuck from me

[–] chosensilence@pawb.social 34 points 2 months ago

They are the same symbol.

I'm gonna have to agree. More visible people need to start saying shit like this and louder.

edit: hold on. "shit like this" could be anything. I'm talking about the obvious tyranny, human degradation, and sheer dissolution of collective reality we're living in, obviously.

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 25 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Its simply the truth.

[–] inclementimmigrant@lemmy.world 25 points 2 months ago (1 children)

So basically a racist broken clock that made a point that a lot of us are making for the wrong reasons.

[–] Chais@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Wait, so does the racist broken clock make the point for the wrong reasons or we?

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 1 points 2 months ago

The point being made is too closely overlapping with antisemitism for anyone to be justified in making it. Stick to the facts, don't impute motivations. The state of Israel is committing genocide against the people of Gaza and are now ethnically cleansing south Lebanon.

When you pull stunts like this bullethead did, it's too easy to deflect the conversation. The Polish hard right isn't an ally anymore than the Likud Party or the settlers are.

[–] ExLisper@lemmy.curiana.net 25 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Polish MTG, basically. Be careful who you cheer for.

poland remembers nothing, the MP showing this is literal nazi that would go and deny holocaust and praise mustached painter. People fall for their sticky trap like flies.

[–] Kkk2237pl@szmer.info 6 points 2 months ago (1 children)

This MP is know from love to Russia, anti EU propaganda. I wouldn’t take him seriously.

[–] khaleer@sopuli.xyz 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I am aware of that, but according to polls ~12 percent of voters is either not aware of that, or like that part of him. And this 12 percent is not something I can ignore.

[–] Kkk2237pl@szmer.info 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I was born and grew up in Polish village. You wont realize how people are stupid And easily to manipulate.

And you can add to it, that he claimed to be anti Ukrainian- people dont like them because they compete with Polish people for work, and you have polls like that.

Sad but true

[–] khaleer@sopuli.xyz 2 points 2 months ago

oh trust me, I know it first hand 😁

And yeah, I also have to deal with anti-Ukrainian folks on everyday basic.

[–] DaMummy@hilariouschaos.com 1 points 2 months ago

So is he waving the flag in support of Israel?

[–] sudoer777@lemmy.ml 17 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Is that meant to indicate support to Israel or opposition?

[–] Jankatarch@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

It's meant to indicate opposition for Jewish people, apparently. Still enjoy Zionists getting hit in the crossfire tho.

Who would have thought that the lesson the Jews would take from the Holocaust would be to "Pay It Forward?"

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 15 points 2 months ago (1 children)

"Israel" isn't synonymous with "Judaism".

What we have in Israel is one more instance of British colonial Divide and Conquer imperial strategy. Select a minority group, grant them favored status, heavily arm them and use them as your proxies to secure territory, isolate them geopolitically so you're their only friends, then use them as de facto mercenaries to suppress the majority ethnic groups for their labor.

The inversion of this strategy has been the degree to which Israelis have played this against their imperial sponsors. They've converted far right Christians into their own proxies, they've infiltrated the police and intelligence agencies of their benefactors, and they've exploited anti-Islamic sentiment to send Europeans to war against the majority ethnic groups across the Middle East.

The lay Jew isn't having a say in any of this. They're just more pawns on the board for Israeli, American, and European power brokers to push around.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 22 points 2 months ago (7 children)

You say this, and I have no animosity toward individual Jews at all.

But it is a simple fact that the Israeli citizens, who are mostly Jews, are nearly fully behind all of the atrocities their country is committing. They overwhelmingly supported the Gaza Genocide, and they support the civilian bombings of Iran and Lebanon.

I don't blame Jews around the world in general, but the Israeli CITIZENS shouldn't get a pass for their support of their government's atrocities just because they are Jews.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

But it is a simple fact that the Israeli citizens, who are mostly Jews

Self-selected sample. Some Jews are Israelis, some Israelis support Likud or even worse parties.

I've met quite a number of Israelis who are decent people. Conversely, I've met a few Palestinians who advocate brutal, evil actions against Jews. Israelis have disproportionate power in the conflict, and therefore bear more responsibility as the occupiers, but the notion of collective guilt is a sinister one that should be avoided.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 1 points 2 months ago

I always take every person as an individual, and never judge them on their race or any other demographic group they may be part of (except MAGAs, they are automatically awful), but as a population, Israelis do not have much of a defense:

A June 2025 poll found that a significant portion of Jewish Israelis support extreme measures in Gaza, with 47% supporting a "war of extermination" (killing all inhabitants). Other polls show 82% support transferring Gazans out and 76% believe there are no innocent people in Gaza, reflecting widespread support for actions deemed by scholars as genocide

So 47% simply want extermination, and 82% support chasing them out, which would amount to same thing for many of them. And 76% claim they are all guilty of something, rationalizing anything bad that might happen to them.

Sorry, obviously there are some good Israelis who see the inhumanity of their nation's behavior, but as whole, they overwhelming support their nation's atrocities, and nearly half would go much, much further if they could.

Who would have thought that their takeaway from the Holocaust would be to "pay it forward?"

It's all too often that the abused become the abuser. the circle of abuse continues.

[–] axh@lemmy.world 12 points 2 months ago (4 children)

I am confused. Because the far-right hates Jews but loves swastikas... So, what does that even mean for him? Did he finally realise fascists were evil? Or does he like Jews now?

[–] UnfortunateShort@lemmy.world 10 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I kind of doubt that too many polish people like swastikas...

[–] axh@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

That's the problem, because those far-right groups claim they are patriots, but they also praise Hitler

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 8 points 2 months ago

You're not confused, they're confused. Your befuddlement is a perfectly reasonable response to their incongruity.

[–] Kkk2237pl@szmer.info 5 points 2 months ago (1 children)

What is more, leader od the most far right party in Poland, who is Jew themselves, he is the most anti Jew ,)

[–] axh@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

No no, that's self-hate, it seems to be a standard practice on the far-right.

[–] Witchfire@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago

Obviously they're all just hardcore fans of South Asian mythology /s

[–] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 10 points 2 months ago

I question the sincerity of the messenger but, if the boot fits...

[–] tirateimas@lemmy.pt 5 points 2 months ago (1 children)

We definitely can find similarities in their actions

[–] middlemanSI@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

That's an understatement.

[–] khaleer@sopuli.xyz 5 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

So we are celebrating a nazi, holding a nazi symbol now? Nice. (sorry I saw too many post being pro-this-piece-of-human-shit)

[–] titanicx@lemmy.zip 5 points 2 months ago

I am so fucking confused here....

[–] axh@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

The funny thing is that for that he got into "trouble" with the US ambassador (who is a Jew). The guy already had a fight with the Polish left. That means that now both Polish right and left are for once on the same side.

The ambassador is the worst ambassador I ever heard of. The only thing that guy does is argue with anyone who dares to criticise his master Trump.
