History

About this community and how I post the comics… Many moons ago, I would ask my Dad to save the newspaper for me everyday so I could read my favorite comic strips. Of course these days you can read your favorite comics online instead of a newspaper, but I love the nostalgia of reading the daily comics. Anyway, one of my favorite current comics is Cyanide and Happiness and I will be posting the daily release from their website (https://explosm.net/) and a an extra or two randoms.

I mean, the cover IS an implement of torture.

Imagine someone telling you that their god loves you and you should love one another and they hand you a book with a gun embossed on the cover.

A gun doesn't quite message torture enough

Agreed, while a gun can be used for torture, it's not as effective at instilling fear after the first or second non-lethal shot. The pain isn't intense enough for long enough to instill raw terror in the subject.

It can certainly be effective if used right, and/or in tandem with other methods, but there's much better ideas that would break the persons mind more effectively and quickly.

At this point I'd like to say I've never tortured someone, but I've an overactive imagination.

All that said, my go-to idea requires restraints on the victim laying on a table. Once that's done, hot metal, dry ice, pliers, hammers, and a knife are the best tools. Sandpaper for some flavor.

Edit: so I guess the best tool in this case would be a hammer and nails?

Cheese grater. Sorry for your insomnia.

[–] IntrovertTurtle@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 week ago

Oh man that's diabolical. At one point I'd imagined alternating sandpaper and razors, but cheese grater sounds better than the razors.

But He loves you. He loves you, and He needs money! He always needs money! He's all-powerful, all-perfect, all-knowing, and all-wise, somehow just can't handle money!” - George Carlin

So you know about the Moonies.

That’s not a Bible it’s a hidden flask. Point made.

β€œThat book judged me first”.

As an ex cultist: holy shit, that is the line! Put it on posters, t-shirts, coffee mugs (for the non-denominational baptists out there), tattoo it on my asscheecks.

Well yeah, but don't judge the cover, that's a nice cover.

I'm just gonna say it. The Bible Two has a better cover. Just say'n.

edit: Even the first edition of The Bible Two had a better cover.

For a solid second, I thought you were gonna post the Book of Mormon, and I was gonna laugh like a lunatic.

[–] TehBamski@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Hahahaha. I wouldn't do that.

[–] stupidcasey@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Damn, that is a nice cover, shame I have nothing to judge the book on.
