Obviously those things suck no matter what day they happen on, but a lot of people’s first reaction to hearing about it is going to be immediately assuming (or at least wondering if) it’s a bad joke.

I had a family member (who was not known for joking or taking a joke) who died on 1 April. There was a little of that when people called, but this person was exceptionally ill so it was expected. We figured they wanted out on their own terms 🤷‍♂️ and have the last laugh!
