Why is he holding a laptop and standing in front of a truck with its hood (or frunk if F150 Lightning) open in a Home Depot parking lot?

He’s a man, but he’s a modern man.

[–] KairuByte@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 1 week ago

A macho man?

A lot of van life people spend the night in Home Depot parking lots and then use the bathrooms at Home Depot as soon as they open up in the morning to do their business and to clean up a little bit.

Presumably because ICE frequently targets day laborers outside Home Depot

[–] CmdrShepard49@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 week ago

That part does make sense but the rest is still confusing unless the frunk and laptop are meant to be a cartoonish trap and bait for ICE agents, which I can totally get behind, but would just like clarification.

If I were a "target" of any kind, I sure as shit wouldn't have my face in photos.

I would assume it’s so you don’t “suddenly fall out a window”. If you are meaningfully poking the bear the last thing you probably want to be is completely anonymous, because then you can just “disappear” without anyone knowing.

I would hope he has people that would notice.

Lemmy? Celebrating a "vibe coder"? On April 1?

It's from the WIRED article on him. Though I'm pretty sure the "vibe coder" label is intended to turn people away so they don't actually discuss his work and how it could be improved.

[–] onlyhalfminotaur@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago

I read it, he's definitely a vibe coder. But that's not to say he isn't doing noble work.

Cool, now show me someone who has actual skills.
