Ignoring the other people in the bathroom regardless of gender presentation is always the most affirming option. No one is there to socialise. It smells like poo.

honestly not making contact is a good idea in a bathroom in general 😅
If I happen to make eye contact with someone I might smile to indicate friendliness and warmth, and that's usually enough. The fellow girl smile is always nice. :-)
1st rule of bathrooms: don't interact with strangers unless they ask for help. If you didn't know them before, they don't exist
What about work bathrooms where you do know them‽
I like to wait till it's clear before leaving the stall and washing my hands just to avoid the "impromptu work questions at the sink" alone lol
