I think a large percentage of these people are apathetic to others. They know. They just don't care.

Dutch historian Rutger Bregman, who famously told the Davos crowd to just pay their taxes, got invited by the BBC to hold the Reith lectures.

In those lectures Bregman said Trump is the most openly corrupt president of the united states. The Trump admin got weird of it and pressured the BBC into censoring that statement.

Which is the most openly corrupt thing to do. It's mad that the Beeb actually bent the knee and did what they said.

If they weren't so poor they'd know that cash doesn't motivate rich people. It's about preservation and gain of power, influence, and status
