I much prefer to wait until a show I cancelled and just watch it all at once. Basically the whole experience is better that way.

You can see what the online chatter is about and judge if it's worth your time.

Usually it's more available as a single bundle on the torrents.

You don't need to worry about unfinished stories or shitty endings to shows you invested your time in.

I think tv shows becoming so expensive has in a way made them worse. I did not bother with the last season of stranger things even thought I enjoyed the previous ones. why? I could not remember anything. too much time has passed. the same has happened to me with so many series.

we used to have a very defined cadence for season releases. now it’s al over the place. you can never know if you should invest time on a show that might be cancelled after waiting for two whole years

Breaking Bad, the Sopranos and The Wire are all exceptions to this rule.

Agree with the Wire.
I think Sopranos could be shaved down by a season and a bit, but not by subtracting full seasons.
Can't speak to Breaking Bad: my kids and spouse were following it as it happened, but I never really dove in, figuring I'd binge it. Tried a few years back, but couldn't get past the first few episodes....

Also, Deadwood is an exception. Not the movie, though.

As someone who's watch BB in it's entirety at least a dozen times.. and BCS at least 6 times, and then El Camino 3 times... I just can't imagine not being able to "get past the first few episodes" of BB... but then again, I might have a a problem.

BRB, gonna start watching BB again.
