It's my last day off before the nose is back to the grindstone, including a day working down in Melbourne. Today will therefore feature meal prep, washing and gerneral last day sadness. Just a couple more weeks to get through and I have 12 days off to do as I please. Very much looking forward to that.

Salutations sophisticated Saturday soldiers!
Meal prep is well underway. Dough for rolls is rising, yoghurt is draining and filling for cottage pie is simmering. Now I just need to form & bake the rolls, do the potato topping for the pie and chop up five meals worth of salads in various forms.
On a jasmine war. This time of year is when it gets really annoying and jumps through everything at lightspeed.
Looks nice, smells nice, but no thanks can't be f'd leaving it too late again.
Weapon of choice is the kukri.
jasmine is definitely lovely
at my last place I had bamboo and jasmine growing next to each other
jasmine would win, climbing up thru the bamboo and bringing it down
also, TIL a new word, kukri ๐
The kukri has become a fave garden tool surprisingly. It's just quicker and keeps its edge dealing with the little stuff. Supposed to be an ornamental thing but it works very well.
In my previous place I had jasmine growing on a trellis that was far too small for it, on the side of the carport. I decided to replace it with something a little less exuberant, but it tooks years of cutting and poisoning before I could get rid of it.

Finally got some more RAM and extra storage for the girlfriend's laptop. Probably not the best deal in the world if i really hunted around but it's done

If you ever get married, I'd be writing up a Binding Financial Agreement lol.
The whole three months salary thing was made up by some memory compnay's marketing department.
I got some second hand at an acceptable price. This laptop doesn't need to be super spec'd out because aparently the battery is beginning to go on it as well

My bread rolls are done.
A mixed batch with 2 hamburger buns (kept flat by putting a small loaf tin on top of them and two standard rolls. I also used a bit of dough to make some crackers, to go with some vegies and dip for snacks.

I found where my huntsman is hiding out, he's in the cupboard protecting my fabric rolls.
How generous of him
excellent choice, he can get all the moths ๐๐ท๏ธ
and he can get any web-spinning spiders that might try to take up residence in the little hole at the end of the fabric rolls. I think he's a perfect sewing room pet.

I read someone watched a movie a day to help with that, thought it sounded like a good idea so I'm going to do that too. I have a stack of dvds I haven't seen yet, after that I can watch the telly again.

I didnโt get to sleep for a long time last night and didnโt drink enough fluid today. Eugh.
The black cat turned up at 3am so while Melbcat rested I slipped out to supply dry food (which isnโt good but seems preferred) and some pats. He was purring. Melbcat is still a bit quiet but has been having some of her dry food. Iโve booked a vet appointment and given her anti nausea meds just in case.

Also found out someoneโs been using one of my emails for a sketchy Instagram page. Iโve already changed the password and have two factor authentication. No idea if they accessed it or if theyโre just using the address without having confirmed it. Wondering if I should request a password reset and delete their gram or what else I should do
I'd rather err on the side of caution and keep them anonymous, but a massive fucking shout out for all the help today and the amazing stuff for the cats!!!

Tonight's hamburger was pretty good. I've never actually made proper hamburger buns before, I'm glad I worked out I can use my small loaf pan on top as a weight. It didn't just make it flat, the weight made it a bit denser so it didn't fall apart as I ate.
