Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

I remember this was a trend a few years ago too. Not just last year. Lots of young people fortunate enough to travel or somehow on tick tock visit places that "just seem to work". They see kids their age at work or happy or in flash cars with iPhones and then they return to the UK and see dog shit on the streets, lack of jobs, astronomical house prices you name it.

They visit places like Dubai and China and Bali and have a great time and their minds are forever changed when they return so they look to the obvious as to why they can't have that here at home. Weirdly their minds think it's because a strongman is in power and not that what they've witnessed is built on top of countless low paid or even slave labour jobs. Even sadder still is when you ask young people they might reply "But I can live comfortably, right?".

I think that's probably a function of youth and they'll broaden their minds as they get older to be more compassionate about others. Thankfully they do have the vote yet...
