Your cat is double branded?

That could be fun...

YarraByte joined me on Chapel St where we met sister's work friend and his friend. They made lots of references I didn't get because they're old. YarraByte just nodded along. Anyway. Took a Siemens train for the first time and the handles are interesting. Passed two level crossings. Kind of weird they're still there in such an area with busy traffic.

Someone's work function bought too many drinks and we got a free one which was cool. That's my night.

People who live in apartments, do you hear your neighbours or do they hear you? I'm considering moving into one some day, but if I can hear the neighbours' every move and they can hear mine, it's a no from me. Staying over in one and I can hear doors slamming, noises I'd rather not hear.

[–] Catfish@aussie.zone 0 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Townhouses count? One side I can hear on the stairs (must be a mech warrior to stomp like that!) other side occasional arguments and some plumbing noises. The lonely dog in the next block is more annoying.

[–] Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 0 points 5 months ago

+1 mechwarrior reference

[–] Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 0 points 5 months ago

Hate apartments but I'm bias because I can't have my studio in an apartment.

Plus I grew up in public housing ghetto apartment block.

Yeah it's probably more the 2nd one now that I think about it.

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 0 points 5 months ago

it really depends on the construction

[–] StudChud@aussie.zone 0 points 5 months ago

I live in an apartment. I think I lucked out, I can't hear my neighbours in their apartments; just in the building hallway. I can hear Sydney Road more clearly than I can hear my neighbours lol

I am on the top floor though, but I've never ever received any complaint about being loud.

I'm used to apartment living though, I got used to running into my neighbours and the general noise level of Brunswick. I feel safer than if I was in a house, less likely to be robbed.

I've lived in many apartments and it's quite variable. I agree with Seagoon it depends on construction. Currently I don't hear a damn thing even if in the hallway can hear my neighbours loud music. I've also lived in an apartment where I could hear my upstairs neighbours footsteps, my across-the-hall neighbours' wailing (he was quite unwell), and it had double height, full wall glass as the outside wall, and I could hear the voices of people on the street. That apartment almost drove me insane and I had to break the lease and leave early and significant cost.

[–] imoldgreeeg@aussie.zone 0 points 5 months ago

Not in my current apartment but it's a bit unusual in construction. Previously yes. It's never really bothered me, if it's a nice enough place I find it kinda nice to hear people around.

First day of swimming class where we don't have to be in the water with the kids. It will be nice to stay dry but we'll see how smooth things go

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 0 points 5 months ago

awake early, kitchen cleaned, breakfast had , cats fed, some antifever meds to counter the effects of the vaccinations

now I might go back to bed

It is always annoying when my daily Squardle puzzle is not square. False advertising!

[–] Alamutjones@aussie.zone 0 points 5 months ago

I’m off to the gym this morning.

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 0 points 5 months ago

time for a coffee

[–] Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 0 points 5 months ago (4 children)

I decided to do a "fuck it I'm going to get whatever I want" supermarket run.

Now, this is probably a weeks worth of food with a few treats, nothing extravagant. And all the cat stuff for about half a week.

Two hundred and ten fucking dollars! I'm one person!!! Plus a bakers dozen or cats.

Man. Never going to woollies or Coles again. Fucking aldi convert right here.

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 0 points 5 months ago

if you have a car no reason to go to colesworth

[–] Catfish@aussie.zone 0 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Yikes! Just did $120 for two. Doesn't include cat fud though, that's prescription stuff.

[–] Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 0 points 5 months ago (1 children)

I eat the same thing most days as well (because I only cook properly if there's someone else around)

Oats Fruit Tuna Frozen veggies Some variety of meat

That's pretty much it.

[–] Catfish@aussie.zone 0 points 5 months ago

Yeah, I don't cook about half the week because Boyo is on 2nd shift. Stuff that ups the spendiness is razors, his fancy conditioner, or letting me loose in the deli 😺

[–] SaneMartigan@aussie.zone 0 points 5 months ago (1 children)

I'm getting my stray cat food from Savemore, ie cheaper by miles.

[–] Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 0 points 5 months ago (1 children)

I have no idea what that is but thanks for the tip. I'll look into it.

[–] Catfish@aussie.zone 0 points 5 months ago (3 children)

Cheaper Buy Miles is the insane cheese crack house I get full multi kilo wheels for $10! There are 4, all west side. Fucking go there.

I have been listening to Project Hail Mary.

I like how a story where the main character defines himself as a sighted being starts with the main character waking up and his only sense is hearing.

[–] Force_majeure112@lemmy.world 0 points 5 months ago (1 children)

I'm going through a re-listening right now 🙌

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 0 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

It's a terrific story. 🤜

[–] Catfish@aussie.zone 0 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Yay! Put some nip in your socks 😽

[–] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 0 points 5 months ago

Nice one!

Give all the kitties a pat for us, even the arsehole ones (bring savlon in case that's a bad idea).

[–] Force_majeure112@lemmy.world 0 points 5 months ago (2 children)

Put your nips in a bra please
