It is time to get up. Iโ€™d rather not

Birdbath has frozen. Hope the birds have ice skates.

[โ€“] dumblederp@aussie.zone 0 points 1 year ago

Used to have to go round the horses troughs and break the ice in the mornings.

I've just arrived at work. I was in my car with the heater on full and a beanie on.

it's cold!

Having a quick coffee before I go out on duty for an hour.

Throw up. Wonder what sort of alien plague you've contracted before remembering you took turmeric capsules yesterday.

[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 0 points 1 year ago

My husband was on that trend a few years back, he lasted about 1 month.

[โ€“] SituationCake@aussie.zone 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I remember Michael Mosley did something on this a few years ago. Itโ€™s only effective when eaten, supplements donโ€™t work. Something about heat activated or fats to absorb it. So just enjoy some curries instead! Huh I actually found it Tumeric

[โ€“] Catfish@aussie.zone 0 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I cook with it all the time. Just found these in the cupboard and thought why the heck not?

Back when I was in cancer treatment, a few people (actually quite a lot of people) recommended turmeric tea/capsules to help settle a very disturbed digestive system. I took ONE dose and was spitting/shitting bright yellow for several days. This never happened when I cook with fresh turmeric root which I actually like. Stick with the real thing I reckon.

I was going to go to Ballarat today, but I think I might put it off until tomorrow so I can get a few more things organised to take up.

A nice hot noodley soup with chicken please.

[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I think I am on the mend. ๐Ÿ™‚ More rest today .

[โ€“] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 0 points 1 year ago

Good to hear, Goonsie!! Keep that rest and water up!

Frost on my neighbour's roof this morning. Haven't seen that before. Grass at tramstop was white with frost except for a ring around each tree roughly equal to the canopy of that tree.

[โ€“] TinyBreak@aussie.zone 0 points 1 year ago (6 children)

how goods a crumpet with a bit of butter and peanut butter?!

[โ€“] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

butter and peanut butter

That argument needs to be put to rest.

There needs to be both.

It has been written and therefore is.

[โ€“] TinyBreak@aussie.zone 0 points 1 year ago

theres no argument. Theres people who like it and then people who are wrong.

A bit? Lol. Butter needs to be slapped on with a trowel.

Peanut butter and butter. You and @Bottom_racer@aussie.zone are my people.

[โ€“] Duenan@aussie.zone 0 points 1 year ago

It's one or the other and lots of it as well.

[โ€“] Alamutjones@aussie.zone 0 points 1 year ago

My jealousy is rising

[โ€“] dumblederp@aussie.zone 0 points 1 year ago

I like butter and miso.

[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 0 points 1 year ago

What is wrong with you?

crumpets are made with little holes so they can hold butter and JAM or HONEY

crumpets are a little sweet so go with sweet things

english muffins with PB is good

[โ€“] Alamutjones@aussie.zone 0 points 1 year ago

Today's going okay, but I'd like a nap

[โ€“] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 0 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Most of my team are offsite and so I'm getting absolutely nothing extra done except reading about my favourite KDramas around answering any emails/calls that come in.

Place near me is advertising a dimmie pizza today... should I do it?

[โ€“] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 0 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Would I do it? Yes. Is it gonna be shit? Yes. Would I still do it? Yes.

The answer is YES! and report back with pics

"we were so busy asking if we could that we never stopped to consider if we should"

If ya'll are delaying the dentist piece of advice: a cleaning regularly can prevent a filling. Ask me how I know. Also if your yet to do a will please consider this an order to go get that done ASAP.

[โ€“] anotherspringchicken@aussie.zone 0 points 1 year ago (6 children)

๐Ÿ˜ฃ both are on my list of things to do. Denist is happening next Monday, but I keep putting the will creation off. Too many hard decisions

More sorting at home turned out to be a good decision. I got a bunch more stuff onto the hard rubbish pile (just in time, they've just picked up all the metal bits) and have found someone to take the chest freezer from the shed. A couple more things are up for sale, and with the freezer and some other clutter gone I have enough room to actually start sorting and packing things up properly.

Leaving Melbourne for the first time since 2018. Off to Perth this afternoon!

[โ€“] just_kitten@aussie.zone 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Enjoy! Go to Kings Park Botanic Gardens, highly rate it.

[โ€“] Force_majeure123@aussie.zone 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I went to UWA for about a semester and lived on campus at Currie Hall - King's park was my back yard! I love it there

First the Liberals get utterly trounced in the elections, now the Nationals are actually deciding to leave the coalition! Well well well. What a year for Australian politics. This will make passing legislation even more interesting... will the Liberals survive being reduced to 28 pathetic seats across the entire country?

Personally I'd love to see country Australia wake the fuck up but these nuclear-touting ass-backward idiots look set to stay for a while. Maybe this breakup could be good for the Liberals to regain some respectability

[โ€“] Thornburywitch@aussie.zone 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I'm loving the idea of the Libs as a minor party. Some consequences for the 2 party preferred system though - Anthony Green or young Mr Briggs will have to generate a whole new set of statistics ...

Jesus christ.

There goes my plan of moving out of the city for the moment lol

[โ€“] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 0 points 1 year ago

You probably want to look at places closer to the ocean, all that water nearby holds lots of heat and helps to buffer the temperatures a bit.

[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 0 points 1 year ago

don't go outside unless you have to

if you do dress very warmly
