It's insane watching all these layoffs happening and thinking "well if this happened in the early 90's or early 2000's surely someone would spin up a new business to compete with their old company" but who has the money? What if President dickhead and his merry band of racist pieces of shit won't let them have a business license or other things they need? People are straight up being iced out of our upward mobility while corruption and nepotism are taking over.
All in all it leads me to feel like the only people who are going to save us from them is someone choosing decisive actions, and sooner than later, but then what? Because there will be major fallout.
Hopefully Brazil and other nations impacted bring some of this to heel, but most likely Big Tech will ignore them until there's a change in leadership in the US, one that will hold them accountable, but we'll see if we fumble the midterms.
Even if we don't fumble midterms Trump said he was going to set fire on shit if they lose, so it's not like it's going to be just fine then.
I'm glad someone else is paying attention, I don't know how we on the Left haven't gotten plans together for their next Jan 6 like attempt, or far worse.
I swear everyday is like living in the flashbacks leading up to the formation of the Republic of Gilead in the Handmaid's Tale show, and as a dad and grandfather to a whole bunch of daughters and granddaughters it's really worrisome, especially since I'm no longer the able-bodied man I used to be.
I have my plans together.

I've already excised all the MAGAs I comfortably can from my life, my oldest son and his wife are deep in the cult, my oldest daughter is engaged to one, and my father is one, outside of our future son-in-law we don't really engage the others too much, my son's wife got into a Facebook fight with my mother-in-law and we've apparently been dead to them ever since, and my dad lives states away from me and his vote is meaningless anyway, he lives in a deep blue area. I keep the peace with my old man for my lil brother and step-mom's sake, but we usually have screaming matches when we get on the phone together, super not fun, but get along perfectly in person, because he suddenly remembers I'm not a 14 yr old boy anymore.
Outside of my daughter-in-law and her family, at least the few MAGAs still in my orbit are super quiet about it to the point where we still question it, my daughter in-law and her family are nuts about it though, scarily so. At this point we're mostly trying to hang in there to protect and be there for the grandkids.
