To add to the FYI, there's a partial eclipse tomorrow evening in Europe. The farther north you are the better you can see it.

some parts are going to be totally eclipsed:

A wide band of north and central Spain, plus a sliver of Portugal and parts of Greenland and Iceland will experience a rare total eclipse.

Partial is pointless, really. Which is why I have to hope it'll be visible here in Iceland.

If you're in Iceland then you're actually in luck, the path of totality does cross over the west of the country. Wikipedia has helpful details of timings and places https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_eclipse_of_August_12,_2026#Eclipse_timing

Yep! Flew here from Los Angeles, landed on Monday morning.

Unfortunately, 4:47pm (eta: I was off by an hour, it's 5:47pm, was reading UTC) local time isn't looking good, and it's way too late to try and get a car and drive to the Westfjords

Partial really is "kinda neat." The light level noticeably reduces a bit, like a very big cloud, and all the little dapples on the ground turn crescent shaped. More eerie than mind-blowing though. We got a minute of totality in 2024, which was very, very cool.
