How many protests were there in DC? Did any of them succeed in shutting the city down

Oh, the capital already shut down by occupying federal troops for a year? ...Yeah they did (and are) protesting and resisting

Explain to me how Pierre Poilievre is, in any way, comparable to Trump.

Ah so now "not Trump" is an acceptable standard, thus the Overton window shifts

Great, and I assume the federal government has no impact on your day-to-day life?

Not sure what point you're trying to make here. Yes, obviously funding and aid cuts hurt everyone. Yes core federal institutions are being dismantled and looted. But despite what you might think, most Americans have very little tangible interaction with federal resources. Say your social security check stops coming in the mail or your Medicare coverage is cut. Who can you go to protest?

Beyond Washington D.C. + military bases + hubs in major cities, offices and personnel are sparse and scattered. For my (relatively populated) area, the nearest federal government property is either a local post office or 1+ hour drive to some small field offices in the city. For me to get anywhere near any prominent elected federal official or department head would be missing multiple days of work and hundreds of dollars in transportation. It turns out it's hard to organize sustained protests in those conditions when over 50% of the population lives paycheck to paycheck.

Did you miss the question "How many?" I'm not saying there have never been any protests. I'm saying that compared to countries that Canadians respect, the number of protests in the US shows that Trump's destruction of democracy isn't a big deal to Americans.

Ah so now "not Trump" is an acceptable standard, thus the Overton window shifts

Did you realize you're replying to a post called "The verdict is in: Canadians hate America thanks to Trump"?

Not sure what point you're trying to make here.

Lies.
