Enough Musk Spam

For those that have had enough of the Elon Musk worship online.

No flaming, baiting, etc. This community is intended for those opposed to the influx of Elon Musk-related advertising online. Coming here to defend Musk or his companies will not get you banned, but it likely will result in downvotes. Please use the reporting feature if you see a rule violation.

Opinions from all sides of the political spectrum are welcome here. However, we kindly ask that off-topic political discussion be kept to a minimum, so as to focus on the goal of this sub. This community is minimally moderated, so discussion and the power of upvotes/downvotes are allowed, provided lemmy.world rules are not broken.

Post links to instances of obvious Elon Musk fanboy brigading in default subreddits, lemmy/kbin communities/instances, astroturfing from Tesla/SpaceX/etc., or any articles critical of Musk, his ideas, unrealistic promises and timelines, or the working conditions at his companies.

Tesla-specific discussion can be posted here as well as our sister community /c/RealTesla.

It's so sad and strange to me that Elon still doesn't understand why people don't like him. Also, he doesn't understand that people don't have to like him either.

I've seen it with CEO types, they are egocentric so don't realize that not everyone wants to be like them, or hold the same beliefs. They prop up their fragile ego with "I'm the best, people want what I have" self talk.

He understands perfectly. He just likes playing the poor oppressed white guy.

Like most white South Africans I've encountered.

I've only met two, but ... yep. That tracks for them.

Very common with Rich people. They love trying to convince everyone that they're very hard done by. Most rich people would have you convinced they're poorer than you, if you let them.

I don't wonder if it's because he's bought and paid for so many "yes-men" around him, surrounded by sycophants when he sees people talk poorly about him, it just doesn't line up with his day to day world view he bought. I doubt a single engineer who works for him has ever told him no, or that what he's doing is dumb.
