censorship isnt the answer. its always abused by the party in power. so id rather have death threads, cp and genovidal remarks removed than letting my admins get burned out by every thing they dont like. im just sad that lemm.ee went this way. the fediverse is tiny compared to reddit and x but already breaking from the inside because people cant just fucking downvote, block users and scroll away. no every thing post gets put on the goldscale.

You don’t know what you are asking for. There are far more toxic people out there that you can possible handle or imagine and even if you can do it (which I doubt) then majority won’t and they would just delete accounts and move elsewhere.

Even I cannot handle everything internet has to offer. Even me.

Don’t ask me what is there, you don’t want to know. We need to be sheltered because we aren’t psychopaths and that’s good.

Go ahead and run your own instance, then.

You do realize that any big enough instance hosting cp WILL get in trouble with authorities, not to mention that no sane admin wants to host it anyway? And that by federating with those instances, you're hosting their content on your instance too.

Pretty closely mirrors my thoughts. Especially since Lemmy now allows users to block any combination of: users, communities, or entire instances.
