Valid question - they track whether you're logging in from a device associated with [banned account], an IP associated with [Banned account], using the same patterns of behaviour as [Banned Account]. I can no longer be bothered enough to try.

I think my best bet would be to log in on my study laptop at uni or a public library, which would be a killer for productivity.

I prefer lemmy all things considered

Devices are quite hard to track. Delete cookies, maybe create a new browser profile or use another browser and you're another "device" in their eyes. IP addresses are imperfect as well, because often many people share one IP (families, companies, universities...). And behavior patterns are always a bit fuzzy.

Thank you, i kind of hope it will work, but i have tried using a new seperate browser + new email address before and it didn't do anything :(
