I have a heap of yard and keep having flashes of inspiration to build raised garden beds to plant stuff in... except then I remember I hate gardening, and dont like vegetables :-\

Have you ever looked in to aquaponics? I have fish tanks and always thought setting them up as an aquaponics type deal would be cool - filtration + free food! - but I'm not actually sure how safe it is to eat products grown in poop from decorative fish.

No, I haven’t.

I need to get some other greens in the ground, but I still need to get beds sorted. I’ve just sifted out a bin full of soil for some sweet potato which I’ll sort this weekend.

This yard used to be part of a dairy farm so the existing soil is pretty good. The back corner has earthworms everywhere
