Even at this late date, if you asked Trump to point to the Strait of Hormuz on a map, he'd probably poke the person holding it up in the eye. His only concern is that gas pricing are going up and USans are mad at him about it. If Iranian negotiators offered to let him build a hotel and golf course near Tehran, he'd agree to everything else.
The neat part here is that the energy shock hasn't actually hit yet because tankers move at around the speed of a bicycle. The ones that left before the strait was closed are still on route. When the oil and gas they carry is gone and the next shipment fails to arrive is when real fun starts at the pump.
