Because of their actions, the government is negotiating relief packages for people in key economic sectors being affected by the price gouging. So, "idiots" is a pretty weird way of saying "protestors who actually understand how to leverage their collective power to force the system's hand to respect their demands"

Some of their demands were stupid and over the top. They already had supports and rebates in place and instead of just blocking in ports and refineries they impacted emergency services from getting to and from emergencies and exasperated an issue.

Hauliers and the IFA vote FF and guess who is in power? FF/FG, they literally voted for this and when faced with the inaction that the rest of us have to deal with as a result of their vote they throw their toys out of the pram.

The government could have done more, as always but this shower of selfish cunts made an issue about them and created a crisis.

I mean, that's like haggling 101. Start your demands high so you have something to give up and still get the stuff you actually want.

Their stances were unreasonable and pissed off more than brought them on side. It aligned with anti EU sentiment which is unnecessary horse shit.
