UK Politics
General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both !uk_politics@feddit.uk and !unitedkingdom@feddit.uk .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.
Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.
Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.
If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)
Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.
Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

We get them a lot. Haven't seen Reform yet, though, their chances in our ward are close to nil. Did meet the Tory candidate, she doesn't stand a cat's chance in hell either. If her party's policies weren't so odious, I'd feel sorry for her. I told her I'd never vote for her party. I already knew the Green canvassers from the pub, and I see the Labour people trying to hand out leaflets in the city centre now and then. They're typical municpal Labour centrists in the pockets of developers and high-street businesses. The Reform candidate is yet another racist ratbag with no discernible local ties, though I might have seen him a few months ago in the small bused-in crowd that was trying to stir up shit in the city centre, only to leave soon after due to a many times larger counter-demonstration. It could have gone worse for them: some of the local shopkeepers had stockpiled bricks on their roof, just in case things kicked off. Don't attempt racist violence against Romanians, Kurds and Turks, they fight back.
