A place for Australians and friends to share news from the other countries. Like all communities here, we discuss topics from the Australian perspective.

If you're looking for a global /c/worldnews instead, search for the many options on federated instances.

Rules
  1. Follow the aussie.zone rules
  2. We are not a generic World News clone. News must be relevant to Australians and our region. Obvious disregard will earn an warning and then a ban if continued. (If an article isn't from an Oceanian news outlet, and it doesn’t mention Australia, then it’s probably off-topic)
  3. Leave seppocentrism at the door. If you don't know what that means, you're not ready to post here yet.
  4. Avoid editorialising headlines. Opinions go in the comments, not the post.

At this point you'd need military action.
Who do you propose to attack isreal? The West is all allied with them.

For the most part the West was allied with Indonesia but that didn't stop the UN/Australia going in to East Timor to end the bloodshed.

I know Indonesia is not Israel. I know the circumstances are not the same. I know that Israel is far more important to the current world order than Indonesia ever was.

But if you had told anyone in 98/99 that East Timor would gain independence and that the UN/Australia would send troops to enforce that independence no one would believe you.

We don't know what the breaking point for stopping Israel and liberating Palestine, Lebanon etc is. It's possible with enough momentum we could force the West to abandon the apartheid colony of Israel.

Sanction them at the very least, like we do to the rest of the world to countries who commit atrocities.

You would think so. Instead we are complicit.
