I understand the complaint. Obvious clickbait is just as bad as any other type of clickbait. Everyone is tired of it.

It would be more truthful and impactful to ask why the US is so hostile towards fruit trees and the free food they provide.

It is especially hard to pick free fruit in the US. Why is that?
