[–] newthrowaway20@lemmy.world 16 points 4 months ago

I wouldn't dismiss daily stretching.. Doing yoga 4 days a week has completely fixed my lower back pain from sitting at a computer all day.

If it's too good to be true, it usually is.

[–] thermal_shock@lemmy.world 10 points 4 months ago (1 children)

What does it hurt to try some stretches? They didn't ask you to donate your kidneys for some weird untrue claim.

Then... Elaborate?

The video didn't ask anything or make crazy ridiculous claims in my opinion, we could all use a little more movement.

The blanket statement title is lying? What more do you want.

It doesn't magically fix shit. Yeah you can better many ailments with physical exercise. But thats not what the video says.

It specifically says it will help with your mobility problems.

It will.

Even if you are healthy. Even if you are disabled.

[–] halloejsovs@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

It says fix in the title... I mean, c'mon

Sorry you're getting downvoted by dogpile-prone children here. You're not wrong, technically, and that's the best kind of correct. 🤌🏼

Sensationalist "journalism" is fucking stupid, and those that handwave it should be ashamed. (see: aforementioned chucklefucks, et al)

Downvotes doesn't really matter. It's okay, I know people have different opinions. But sensationalist health claims is a pet peeve of mine!

[–] otter@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 4 months ago

It should be all of our pet peeve, NGL. Worldwide, FFS.

Stretching and exercise is the silver bullet to better quality of life that everyone dismisses for snake oil and fads.
