I used to survive by wringing out a shirt in water and putting it on, and having icy poles or frozen drinks

I just assumed you all died, it's good to hear that at least one of you is still alive. I don't do well with heat, if I didn't have AC I'd either be camped out in the shower running cool water over myself or on the floor crying. I wish I was more like Miss Meow, who is currently voluntarily outside.

thats a great idea! I should get a spray bottle for next time.

my strat has been to close all windows and blinds to the world & have regular cold showers. plus frozen grapes.

Spray bottle with fan does such a great job, optionally can refrigerate the water.
