I'm not a turtle dude so I apologize for my ignorance but why is the glass so foggy? Edit: also, awww

Being permanently baked would explain why he thinks doing a barrel roll is ever a good idea...

Could be wrong, not a turtle expert but believe it's on purpose for humidity. I believe you're supposed to mist their environment daily

Being the craft goblin I am, their cobbled container is actually humidity controled by a household humidifier piped in though a fidget tube! I love it, because the cool mist pools on the ground and makes them look like tiny dinos.

I don't think its glass. I think its textured translucent plastic. Which is better for turtles, it makes them feel more enclosed and safe. Sometimes they'll also try and walk through clear glass because they either can't see it or they're dumb. Probably both.

You're actually spot on! Though having lived with them for so long, I've developed a suspicion that, while dumb, they do understand transparency. This guy regularly climbs up the rocks and watches out the clear panneling on the side of the tank without ever trying to walk through it. He does however, ram the front of the tank full force despite it being scuffed enough for him to know it's there. I'm pretty sure he understands that this is the side that opens when I bring him food and he's decided he's just going to get it himself.

Also he comes up to this slot and watches me while I work on the computer. Isn't even spooked when I peak back.

So it's actually acrylic, and I scuffed up the bottom edge because turts have a hard time with transparent material. Doesn't stop Digger though, he knows it's there and still tries to barge through it.
