I imagine China forcing Koreans to rush armed and dug in American positions unarmed and en masse probably had more to do with that 25% dying than anything.
Although the meat grinder tactic China and Russia are so fond of is pretty effective, as the Battle of Chosin remains to this day the worst defeat the US Marines have ever suffered.
Anyway, you’re seriously misconstruing historical events.
It's amazing when people say these things. Even Wikipedia will tell you 85% of all structures in North Korea were destroyed. No one even bothered to estimate military versus civilian deaths. I fucking hate tankies but there's no point in being useless bullshitters ourselves. People with no regard for the truth are even worse than tankies.
