Anger is rising among Labor’s base over the war in Gaza, with nearly 80 local branches passing motions over recent weeks calling for Australia to impose sanctions on the Netanyahu government and sever military ties with Israel.

...

Seventy-eight Labor branches have passed motions calling for far-reaching sanctions against Israeli entities and individuals involved in the war and a two-way arms embargo on Israel, including the supply of military parts and components.

The branches include one in Foreign Minister Penny Wong’s home city of Adelaide and three in Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s Sydney electorate of Grayndler.

“Strong words are not enough,” the conveners of the Labor Friends of Palestine group said in a letter sent to Wong on Wednesday and seen by this masthead.

“Expressions of concern and repeated calls for restraint have achieved little in the last 21 months; indeed Israel’s violence and clear disdain for international humanitarian law have only intensified.”

because I don't hate Palestinians, I just don't care, in the same way you don't care about the war in the Sahel, I wouldn't say because of your lack of care you hate Africans

Why wouldn't I care about the war in the Sahel?

[–] Eyekaytee@aussie.zone 0 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (2 children)

I have no idea why I would think you don't care about the war in the sahel when you've made ZERO posts on it compared to every day talking about Gaza ;)

Happy to be proven wrong, we can go down to the local mosque and start protesting and screaming that they should be doing more to stop islamic jihadism across northern africa

[–] maniacalmanicmania@aussie.zone 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Oh no you got me. I'm such a hypocrite. Tell you what, I'll go down to the local mosque and protest islamic jihadism across Northern Africa just as soon as you go down to the local synagogue to protest zionist ethnic cleaning and apartheid in Occupied Palestine. Deal?

I think we should purge genociders. With bullets. Just boom, no more propagandists.

Is Australia supporting one side of that war?Providing military equipment to one side? Are we trading with then?

I don't know the answers, but if we are then I think we should also stop doing that.

"I don't hate Jews, I just don't care about the war in Europe. Those crazy politicians who want to stop supporting Nazi Germany should join the Greens!"

The nazi's (and hitler) hated the jews because

During the First World War (1914-1918), Hitler was a soldier in the German army. At the end of the war he, and many other German soldiers like him, could not get over the defeat of the German Empire. The German army command spread the myth that the army had not lost the war on the battlefield, but because they had been betrayed. By a ‘stab in the back’, as it was called at the time. Hitler bought into the myth: Jews and communists had betrayed the country and brought a left-wing government to power that had wanted to throw in the towel.

By blaming the Jews for the defeat, Hitler created a stereotypical enemy

https://www.annefrank.org/en/topics/antisemitism/why-did-hitler-hate-jews/

The jews did nothing wrong, they were simply an easy escape goat for ze Germans (as they have been throughout most of history ((https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pogrom#History_of_anti-Jewish_pogroms)), you may recognise this when people blame purely immigrants for high house prices

On the other hand... the Israeli's and Palestinians are currently at war because:

On 7 October 2023, Hamas-led militant groups launched a surprise attack on Israel, in which 1,195 Israelis and foreign nationals, including 815 civilians, were killed, and 251 taken hostage with the stated goal of forcing Israel to release Palestinian prisoners.

The Gaza war follows the wars of 2008–2009, 2012, 2014, and 2021.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaza_war

As I've been saying for over a year now, if Hamas wants to stop the civilians dying it can fight on the open battlefield or give up and put its arms down, it's doing neither.

Oh, so you do actually care, and you do actually hate the Palestinians, it's just that you support Israel's genocide. Dishonest Nazi

the Israeli’s and Palestinians are currently at war because:

History didn't start on October 7th, Nazi. Israel already had most of Palestine under a brutal military occupation (under which they had moved a tenth of their population into illegal settlements in undisputed violation of international law) and had the rest of it under a brutal blockade (which is also against international law) and were regularly killing and kidnapping it's citizen, having murdered Palestinians as recently as the week before October 7th

But of course, you know all this, you're just lying, like how you were lying about not caring.
