A lady at the grocery store, unprompted, told me the poorly stacked water cases were DEI. Boomers have 0 idea what the acronym even means
"What would you rather people who struggle to stack water cases be doing to earn a living? Flying planes? Heart surgery?"

DEI is a replacement word for the slurs theyβre afraid to say out loud (for now).
They always find a way to pronounce "DEI" with a hard R.
I donβt suppose you asked what she could possibly mean? Do you have any speculation?
They believe DEI policies lead to incompetent people being hired rather than the more qualified white candidates. Those incompetent employees stacked the water bottle wrong, therefore DEI is to blame for the poorly stacked water bottles.
it would make more sense to blame immigrants than DEI, neither make much sense either way but at least blame something that could cause the problem (like poor training or low wages).
