How does Russia react?

[–]viva_la_republica[S] 27 points 5 hours ago

Russia is shocked by the fall of North Korea, but it isn't exactly a good look to come to the defense of a totalitarian nuclear-armed pariah state. So, Russia just instead supports China's stance of "reunification can only open through peace". The Russian government is slightly displeased that the new North Korea would pretty much be a Chinese puppet, but it was more preferable than the peninsula being united by South Korea.

The thread is about Andrew Callaghan's interview with Sneako where they discuss Palestine. A poster pointed out that Sneako is a bigoted piece of shit and how collaboration is harmful, and this is the response. It's gibberish but uses leftist language, and it is really funny. A milquetoast, incomprehensible attempt at scolding by a confused soul.

Viva Palestine.

I read all 284 pages of this slop-tastic fever dream because I thought that it must be some sort of satire. Nope. But it did inspire me to stop lurking and make an account so I could share some juicy tidbits. Especially since I can't leave a review for the author on Amazon cause I don't buy enough shit. Any ways, enjoy a few context-free quotes before I mulch this book.

'For Celebration of the Wise (aka Sagan's Day Eve), Ellie uses the small form Tree of Knowledge-- a table-size Bodhi Tree-- rather than the larger faux evergreen style. Portraits dangle from the branches. Neil DeGrasse Tyson. Bill Nye. Booker T. Washington. Madame Curie. Lise Meitner. Christopher Hitchens. There are other 2x2" portraits in the 21-person set, but she prefers simplicity. Bill Maher and Hillary Clinton were on last year, and the year before, but now it's time to let some others shine.'

'Alden ate his sausage and hash browns while watching the governor of Montana speak with the morning hosts of Fox Nation live. He's discussing recent successes by border militias battling Chinese drug cartels operating at the Canadian border. "If you're going to buy meth and ruin your life, you're going to have to buy American."'

'With God as our guide, we will help citizens maximize their income to live wealthy lives.'

'Blue speaks through the banging, "We must protect the masses from their extremism, Allie. By seeking to become the dominant ideology they will destroy all parties involved. Utopia is an impossibility. Do you agree?"'

'Sam gets out and walks to the bar. Alden follows her, trying not to fixate on how she waggles in the denim skirt. It's probable he is angry at himself while thinking of his mother's words, "They don't wear it for you to look. They wear it because they like the way they look in it." But was it some crazy coincidence that what many feminine identities like to wear happens to be the exact type of thing cis-het-male identities can barely look away from? Things are different in the Red states though. You can look. It's bait, decoration, natural attraction, biology. His transition mentor said so.'

'Allie chuckles. "I don't think anyone ever got lynched in Mississippi or left for dead in Wyoming because they like to pony-prance."'

Russia has been secretly supporting Iranian missile development since 2023, according to a report in the Financial Times on Tuesday.

The goal of the program, codenamed C430L, was to help Iran develop missiles capable of taking out US Navy aircraft carriers in the Middle East.

In particular, they aimed to develop a ramjet propulsion system that would allow Iranian missiles to fly at several times the speed of sound.

Fast, low-flying missiles would give Western air defences less time to react increasing the impact of such an attack.

The transfer of advanced missile technology would have required approval from the highest political echelons in Russia, amid speculation that this was a technology exchange. Iran supports Russian drone development, and Russia supports Iranian missile development, in addition to the already existing intelligence cooperation between the two.

Leaks seen by the Financial Times showed that preparations for the deal were underway before the deal was signed in November 2023, only a month after October 7.

"Russia is trying to broaden the Ukraine war and draw the US into different theatres," said Nicole Grajewski, a professor at Sciences Po University in Paris.

The investigation also showed that the support continued throughout the war with Iran in February, and provided significant assistance to Iran during its attacks on the Gulf states.

Iran has long sought to develop a ramjet propulsion system, as far back as 2019, when then supreme leader Ali Khamenei was seen inspecting development sites. Iranian media also reported the testing of ramjet prototypes in August 2023.

Description from X:

The August 31 post showed Owens and Kirk in leis from their Turning Point USA days, drawing notice because it marked the anniversary of her 2019 wedding at Trump Winery to Farmer, attended by guests like Nigel Farage and Jon Voight. Kirk, the organization's founder, was killed in a Utah shooting in September 2025. Many pointed out she skipped sharing a photo of her husband—especially while seven months pregnant with their fifth child after an anniversary trip—leading some to call it strange or question her priorities, while others saw it as a simple tribute to a past colleague.
