This is why he always goes out at night. No tan lines!

I want to believe that progress is inevitable. The living conditions for the working class are better now than they were 100 years ago. Hopefully, by the time another 100 years have passed they will have drastically improved some more.

Unfortunately, the reasons they have improved in the last 100 years are due to constant fighting against the lazy non-working class. Not some evolved sense of society.

With fewer people smoking, the price of cigs sure didn't drop.

Oh yea, totally no judgement. I'm just being a smartass.

Not to be a critic. Um, I don't see the green.

The pots obviously. They're called chamberpots for a reason. The kid keeps breaking them instead of cleaning them out however. All because he found a couple rupees once that had fallen in while I was doing the deed. Well, I knew they were in there, just wan't worth trying to retrieve them, ya know? I tried telling him he can get the rupees if he cleans them out too. But he didn't listen to that either. I replace the chamberpots as soon as he leaves, but he just comes right back and breaks them again.

And he wonders why we are poor and his mom is gone.

Or crumble them up and toss them on a bowl of ice cream.

Did they fall out and the nuts are at the bottom of the bag?

I think that's arch linux, not mint. But if you're interested in continuing down this path, you may need to soon.

I have audio recording/listening working with frigate, but not any talking back through the doorbell. Which makes sense since it's an rtsp stream from the doorbell. In order to be able to talk out of the camera you'd have to expose internal apis which many doorbells don't do.

ffmpeg:

output_args:

record: preset-record-generic-audio-aac

Yea, I think they're grasping at straws and doing anything that they can to get more people to use Epic.

I remember staying up all night long with a group of friends of mine. We took turns driving by Target where one guy worked and he knew they were getting a shipment of PS2s in.

We formed battle plans based on who wanted the PS2 the most , down to me, who would buy one if there were enough, but didn't overly care if I had to wait a few months to get one. Since I cared less, and am over 6ft I was dubbed crowd control. The guy that worked there drew the floorplan and showed us where the display was going. Our caffeine fueled plans had us developing different formations and routes to ensure as many PS2s for the group as possible and delay other people as long as possible. And contingency plans if a different customer took an alternate route around the crowd to get there first.

Once we saw the line starting to form at around 2am we all drove down and got in line and camped out till 6am when the store opened.

Our plans were dashed, but held in reserve just in case things went south when we learned the store manager was a levelheaded individual. He passed out numbers for each of us based on our position in line.

I was #12.

The line never got longer than the number of PS2s they had in stock, so our plans were doubly dashed as there was absolutly zero confrontation.

It was a fun fantasy for a while though. These were the same kids that had baseball bats and ski masks at the ready when Y2K happened. They patrolled the town at midnight looking for signs that everything crashed and were going to join in if they saw anyone looting. They wouldn't start the looting, but were ready with a wishlist from various stores. Best Buy was high in their priorities.

That also never happened. But boy were they ready.

I bought myself a cheap sodastream for fathers day recently. I did some research and lots of DIYers recommended getting your own CO2 tank and adapter hose to hook up to the sodastream directly instead of refilling the small canisters that sit inside.

I waited to make sure the sodastream was going to be something I liked before committing to the big tank. I'm a big dr pepper fan and the dr pete syrup wan't very good. It was metalic and tasted like a cross between dr pepper and pepsi. I'm not a huge cola flavor fan. But I love carbonated waters and got the bubly natural flavors and those have been good.

Nobody in the family really liked their first drinks. A lot got poured out. But, I decided to pull the trigger and got a big 20lbs tank for no other reason than to save money on all the carbonated water I buy. I go through 1-2 cans per day. That shit's only getting more and more expensive too. I took it to the local gas store and filled it with beverage grade CO2, ($40) hooked it up, and was pleasantly surprised.

Not just that it worked, but by how GOOD it tasted. Even plain with no flavors. Had others in the family taste to confirm and they all agree the new CO2 tank tastes WAY better. I wonder if the small canister that came with the sodastream was just sitting in a warehouse for so long it started to pick up a lot of taste from the metal or something.

Very happy, gonna need to retry the dr pete syrup, and see if that was the problem.

So, does anyone know of any good foss calendar that has better notifications than the stock google one?

I'd like to be able to add notifications at/before the event AND notifications at/before the end of the event.

Scenario: Child has a bday party at friend's house.

I want to be able to set the activity's length, say 2hrs. Set a notification before the event to remind me when I need to leave to drop them off, and set a notification before the end to go pick them up.

I think it's annoying to have to create a second event to remind me to pick them up. and with multiple children and events the calendar gets cluttered with duplicates.

Suggestions?

I'm looking for some good space opera. I read a lot on royal road and KU. I love space opera, but I'm sick of military and AI tropes. Any good suggestions? The more ship to ship battles the better. I understand that may be counter-intuitive, but I've read several privateer/freighter/scrapper books that were amazing. Looking for more of the same.

Thanks!
