They are pointing out in this article that the way that the problem is devised for the computer makes it basically already solved. The quantum computer get a list of all the factors and, after a bunch of hand waving, picks one. Something a vic20 an abacus and a dog can all do too.

Some people would stand for that sort of thing but frankly I can't imagine why....

Through the fire and the flames etc. etc.

Well maybe OpenAI has only made 0 dollars now. But, give it a few years and its sure to make at least $000,000,000,000.00.

I think that the era of platform locked internal tools is close to being over, at least for smaller organizations.

AI sucks for innumerable reasons, but the ability to create internal tooling for specialized systems is now something that organizations of smaller and smaller sizes can now take advantage of. IE, write a printer interface that does xyz for our machine and integrates with CUPS instead of a windows print server. Now we can save a Windows server license and an expensive proprietary software license.

AI is still absolutely terrible though. Never open a port to anything vibe coded ever.

How it started

How it's going

Yes and as far as I can tell, they all have that as their system. Also the changing of the password every quarter which has proven to actually decrease password security and increase password reuse.

I should say, if anyone knows a bank with proper modern online security protocols I am willing to listen.

Occam's razor probably points to having access to graph paper in school and connecting corners.

Why an S?

That all has to do with Cthulu as S is widely known as his favorite letter.

Fair point but I am not going to do all my shopping exclusively out of catalogs and mail in my payment with cash.

Its a shitty situation but short of government regulation (ha) nothing is going to change.

I appreciate the effort but my banking apps still rely on 2FA through SMS. They aren't interested in implementing a technology that is more secure or even one that is different than what they have already, especially for a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of their user base.

Clonezilla can do that for you. Very easy, very reliable.

Moved into my own house again recently. I would like to get a lot of stuff automated like I had in my previous house.

Unfortunately, theres a lot if old wiring here and most switches have no neutrals in the box.

What is the current best option for smart switches (ideally dimmers) that dont require a neutral wire?

I'd prefer a non-wifi solution that doesnt require a proprietary hub but it seems like there are limited options anyway and I am having trouble finding almost any good options that dont require a neutral.

Anybody using anything they really like?

I have a Motorola Razr+ 2023 from T-Mobile that I have had for 2 years and is now paid off and unlocked.

It works with physical sims from other carriers but no esim will begin to activate. It only pops up with a message to call T-mobile which I did but, they won't help me because I am no longer a customer.

The carrier unlock in the settings of android says unlocked so I don't know what to do next.

Any ideas or fun ADB things I can try?

These seem like ideal machines for workstations, for mom and dad, and for virtualization hosts.

This model, the Beelink EQi12 even has a built in power supply so managing them in a rack is also super handy. And of course the price is not too shabby either.

I have had pretty good luck with these in the past but I'm interested in hearing other's experiences, if any.

I can't imagine that they are 100% on top of firmware updates, but have they had issues in the past with Windows keys or any other shady stuff I should know about?
