In case you weren't aware, there has been an annual threadiverse version of Eurovision going on for the past couple years called Lemmyvision (!lemmyvision@jlai.lu). I asked a couple people in our matrix channel and in the weekly thread if there would be interest in making a submission from this community and there seems to be interest. So, this is the official thread for nominations.

The Intent

The intent of this contest isn't necessarily to win or to try to nominate something popular. Instead, it is to try to share a bit of anime culture to those outside of the bubble. So, as you select nominations and vote, try to keep that in mind. There might be an obscure song from a show that you haven't watched before that is actually a lot of fun and is a good choice.

Instructions

• Make a single nomination as a top level comment in this thread. Only one nomination per comment. This lets people vote on each nomination individually.
• Please include a link to the song/video so that it is easier for people to screen them. (either youtube or animethemes.moe works)
• If you want to make multiple nominations, make additional comments.
• Vote on the comments to help select the top couple finalists before a final round of voting will take place later this month.
• Any meta questions or rule clarifications should be asked as a reply to my pinned comment in this post. Please don't clutter up the thread with top-level meta questions.

Rules

• The song must have been released some time in 2025.
• The song must be made specifically for an anime. It can't be a song that existed already and they just used it in the anime as a needle drop.
• When we make our final submission to the contest, I was planning on including a link to the footage of the song in the anime (like the edited down OP) as well as a full MV (if it exists). So, linking either is fine.
• Songs can't be considered an "international hit". I asked for some clarity on this rule, and it seems like anime is niche enough we don't really need to worry about it. However, if something has 100's of millions of youtube views already, I might exclude it for this reason.

If your nomination comment breaks any of the rules above, I will be removing them, don't take it personally. I will try to remember to comment underneath why I removed it and what the nomination was so that others don't make the same mistake. I don't want ineligible nominations clogging up the thread and impacting people's ability to view other nominations and voting.
