I kinda see your point, but at the same time im also a little envious of people like this. It has to feel good to like something so much that they behave how they do. I can't think of anything that I enjoy as much as some of these fans. It seems weird to me, but good for them.

I have my great grandmother's tea kettle. One of my earliest memories was at her house using it to fill the bird bath in her garden. I used it regularly until it developed a leak. Now it just sits on a shelf in my office.

I'd never heard of the monkey banana ladder experiment before. At the end of the article it said that that experiment has never actually been done. When searching further, it seems like this is an often cited hypothetical experiment. I found mention of a similar study that actually happened that allegedly had different results but the details seem to be behind a paywall.
