Might be low, but it's still access to the internet. Seems like a great move.

No way, it's for the data collection.

They dont want to share it, that's right, but it's very much not done by accident.

When batteries one day gets lighter in weight, we might see hybrid planes at scale. Or even full electric for smaller flights.

Then oil is really about to get abundant in some parts of the world.

It's already happening with cargo ships and trains. (Yes, I know they are much easier to transition to electric than planes)

And even if the battery is degraded with maybe 5%, it's still an amazing car.

Lets say you needed to replace the battery one day anyway. You'll have saved on every other reparation, because EVs dont have moving parts that breaks all the time like in old cars.

Regulating big countries like we regulate monopolies. And should regulate billionairs.

Too much power corrupts everything.

It's almost like it's only a data harvesting tool. Why tf should they implement it everywhere for free?

Witch hunting was done by the people, not power hoarders, and I'm pretty sure that was plain out evil with the excuse of religion.

Well if someone did this to help Ukraine, we would applaud it. Because they are invaded, and Russia is the aggressor.

Someone is now helping Iran. Should be the same, right?

Ah, fairs.

Well in some countries solar is curbed. You are forced to sell it back to the grid at a low price.

The thought is good, because everyone benefits. In practice it's bad because nobody wants to buy the panels.

They just changed this in my country so hopefully it will be more popular. Also government buildings are getting it all over now.

~~I think, like the rest of the world, we try to go away from US software. Windows is the big one, and China would like to go open source.

They do that because it's the strongest weapon against capitalism in the US. That country is nothing if they cant monetize on everything.~~

EDIT: I'm an idiot. Didnt read the article, but I did now. Just pass my stupid comment.

I dont think the goal is ever to make that money.

He just tries to get everyone else to pay for his toy. And they will, because SpaceX also have military power, which is why it's insane that such thing CAN go public.

Chat Control didnt pass - they didnt even vote because they were afraid the result would be embarassing.

And we got told so many times, that EU now wants Chat Control. But it was a big fat lie.

EU is a democracy with different opinions, and when a small group of facists tries to read your chats, it does not represent the EU opinion.

But the whole media got you thinking so. Proving even on Lemmy, you and me are extremly prone to propaganda.

I quoted the article here with the news:

In a major breakthrough for the digital rights movement, the German government has refused to back the EU’s controversial Chat Control regulation yesterday after facing massive public pressure.

The government did not take a position on the proposal.

This blocks the required majority in the EU Council, derailing the plan to pass the surveillance law next week.
