I sob like a baby when I watch Practical Magic (Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman.) Same with Disney's Moana. Neither movie is really advertised as bring particularly deep or philosophical, but both of them have more profundity than appears on the surface. PM is about love, death, and family. Moana is about determination, joy, and redemption. Big emotions.

I'm looking for a way to both keep track of the wines I try, and to find info on new wines. In particular, I'd like to be able to search by characteristics. And all without being tracked or nagged to pony up for the premium subscription. Thanks.

I do buy yarn from places like knitpicks but I also love to spin my own yarn. Would you like to join us on the dark and twisty side? You won't get hooked, I promise.

Excellent. I do this all the time, answer the wrong question. But yes, you are completely right, check pulse with your fingers. I feel very close to you right now.

I didn't know there was an Islamic dilemma. Also, I don't care about it any more than I would care about a dilemma in any other religion. Religion is such a cancer in the world, I prefer to keep my mind clear of it.

I binged the whole thing the other day. Addictive, although gory and laden with F-bombs.

She's surprised that the supreme court would strip rights away from Americans? Good thing she doesn't need an abortion. I have only contempt and tiny violins for her, while I am filled with rage and terror for my trans kid and hir trans wife, and my gay mother and her gay wife. And for my disabled self, of course. When they come for one of us, they come for us all. It's the code of the freaks, and this woman forgot that.

Oooh, this sounds promising. We have a local server. And my Sense 2 can go a week between charges. Thank you very much. I'll look into it.

Awwww, thanks. Isn't life just full of these messy, scary, oddball realities that no one ever tells you? I found so many of them in parenthood. Aging looks like more of the same.

Good point. Thank you.

We're all android and Linux here, but thank you!

My partner and I are getting older, and sleep in different rooms at different times. We've both worried about the other dying unbeknownst. I wear a pulse watch, but don't know if it will do what I want. Any ideas, friends? I'd like us to be able to glance at a screen and see a heartbeat, ideally without spending more than a couple hundred dollars, and without too much hassle or cumbersome equipment. I appreciate any suggestions. (edit - we use android and Linux.)

There is lots of great content on YouTube, but you need to do some work to shake it loose. On the thumbnail page, click on the dots next to the image and choose "not interested" to get rid of the same ones showing repeatedly.

Try searching for terms you are interested in. Once you watch a couple of videos on the same subject, they'll keep trying to show you more, which one be a good thing or not, depending.

Creators come and go, so finding new ones is an ongoing process.
