I think, there were some more events, and maybe they involved elections, too. And after that all the other parties were eliminated, because it turned out that it's easier to rule when there's no other options

It used to be leagues better than the default on windows, having plugins, hex-view for binary files, actual history instead of one undo, ability to open big files without much trouble, formatting and syntax highlight. At least, those were the reasons I used it, nowadays I still install it and set as default, but don't use that much. And I moved to Linux anyway

Well, I see the point, but even if they do something about it, they will never not be a narcissist. Same as if I am a sober alcoholic, I remain an alcoholic with all the pitfalls of being one even if I evade those

Yeah, their position is unlikely to change. I may not like people with this condition, but you're right that it is not a choice

You're kinda both right and wrong, it is a narcissistic card to play, but it also is a real condition often inflicted by parents and/or environment. I'd say you're more in the wrong, because this is more likely to not be a conscious choice.

Digching one of the genders looks better, but it will spark a huge war over which one to exclude (and I can totally understand that, at least from the side of women that are excluded by default in many languages)
