Let's play another game. I post a headline and you have to guess if it is real or made up.

Back in 2015 for gaming PC: Steam and Nvidia driver updates via package manager, Xfce (used it before on multiple laptops), promise to be more stable than vanilla arch.

What did I just read?

This is a strong indicator that your PC crashed because of a hardware problem. Use prime95 with the small settings to test CPU stability (minimum 1h). Use memtest86 (the free version) or prime95 with large/memory settings to test your Ram. It could also be your PSU failing/shutting off or shutoff caused by overheating.

Ok perfect. You can still download+update apps from Play store using the Aurora app. Some apps won't work without google services - just replace them with another app :) Btw. Waze works without google services and has the same live traffic data as Maps - it's also by Google but requires no google services and no login

Waze is also by Google but: Works without gapps installed and without login. Has live traffic data and same features as maps.

What do the system logs say? "sudo journalctl -b-1" after a reboot and jump to the end.

Did you flash gapps / Google services? If so Google will still have full control over your phone.

TLDR: Does not know how to setup VPN for remote access. His NAS needed constant maintenance and broke frequently (playing around too much?). Used Youtube as information source / to solve problems.

Best solution is to use docker. One container is gluetun which provides the VPN connection. The other container runs transmission or qbittorrent and its traffic is routed over gluetun.
