What architecture do you suggest for complicated systems?

Thank you for your explanation.

My work revolves mostly around large enterprise software, so I guess this fits me.

But can you elaborate why not write a game engine with it? Game engines are also very complex.
Do you say because of the performance hit of multiple layers of abstractions?

I'm specifically talking about the "Clean Architecture" design as described by Robert Martin though.

I'm not talking about the "clean code" approach. I'm talking about "clean architecture" for software design.

I have also heard things about how the multiple levels of abstraction in Clean Architecture can lead to worse performance, but we can always optimize the bottlenecks and skip the abstractions if needed. I also don't have any actual benchmark of how much is the performance hit.

The last update was obviously vibe coded. At least all the UI was fucked up. All sizings were messed up, colors were inverted.

And don't get me started on continuously moving pre-existing community features into "paid only". First boards was almost deprecated, then playbooks.

You have bo idea how much of a pain in the ass mattermost is. Basically corporate trying to leech off of opensource. I decided to make it the messenger in our org 3 4 years ago. But I might move away from it if it starts acting up more.

Isn't that almost impossible? It has to be trained on that language afaik

[–] somegeek@programming.dev 7 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

What languages does it support? Any source?

If the voltage and current matches, then it's fine.

If each install takes 10mins you have installed 200 times that is 2000mins or ~34 hours.

Gitea or forgejo are super solid and super lightweight with a sqlite db

checkout "My checklist and tips for server setup"

Please share your tips and tricks with me. I would love to hear them and use them.

Any feedback is welcomed.

Hi Redshift isn't maintained anymore and lately redshift-gtk doesnt start anymore (something about a python circular dependancy).

What should we use?

Hi guys.

I have an android head unit for my car that only manages multimedia, navigation and stuff. it also has multiple physical buttons and knobs. It’s offbrand so can name the particular brand or model.

can I for example upgrade the OS?

Hi everybody. I have a rooted phone and I was thinking, If I can spin up something like Samsung DEX on my phone, alongside my android, that uses Linux, I can do 80% of my work just with my phone. Is that doable? Can someone provide me with more information?
