It's not everyone. My first date with my husband, we went to a modestly priced restaurant. Looking at their menu now, it's $20 a plate for a lot of food (plus tip). We had them cater our wedding. But that was back in 2015. Also, we're a gay couple, not sure how that has influenced dating habits.

The framers of the Constitution had objections to parties and left them out. Completely refused to even acknowledge them. Within five years, a party duopoly formed. Even nominally one party states have hidden internal factions. It is better to acknowledge human nature and compensate than to work against it only to cause harm in failure.
I see the point of plant based leather not as necessarily being great now, but as demonstrating that there is demand for R & D to make a product that can meet or surpass the quality of leather later.
From some searching, they're also available for charter. Still not something for a person of average means to do on their own, but maybe a group of upper-middle class people. Some Amtrak routes go through some incredibly scenic areas. The one that comes to mind in my neck of the woods is the Empire Builder. It would be a luxury experience for sure.
