And in the center of the graph you can find Fedora.
Far from perfect but the exact middle ground

I'm amazed by the fact that guns are this cheap

By looking at their faces it doesn't look like we lost a breaktrough study in the cure for cancer...

So, I'm a sucker for cheap and quirky Ibanez models, my favourite guitar I own is my Roadcore series RC302, that I got for a steal and modded the hell out of it.

But now, a new challenger approaches.
A couple weeks ago I finally found the guitar that held the 1st spot in my bucket list for some years: the Ibanez TM303M, also known as the Nashville Talman.
For those who don't know, this guitar was issued with the respin of the Talman series, a design inspired by old-school Fender models, with the classic alder body and bolt on maple neck, that had very limited runs. This particular one was produced for just a couple years from 2016 to 2018 and it took me a lot of patience to find one.

The thing that fascinated me about this model, besides its captivating looks, is its circuit: while in stock Nashville Telecasters the middle pickup is usually activated via push-pull knob or with a 5-way switch in a Strat-like combination, here it is controlled by its own volume pot, allowing it to be blended in with any other classic Tele position and giving the guitar more tonal flexibility.
If you're interested in the schematics I found this on Seymour Duncan's site.

After a couple years the dating pool, last spring I was fed up with all the bullshit, so I said "fuck it, I'm done" and gave up.
Shortly after I casually met my best friend's sister after 10 years we didn't see each other and had a really fun time, so we started hanging out. I didn't even see her as a "potential candidate" in the beginning until I realized how much I enjoyed spending time together. So we started dating and now we're in a truly wonderful relationship, I can easily say the best I ever had.

And I think all of this wouldn't have happened if I hadn't let myself truly enjoy someone without any preconceived goal or expectation, without that "fuck it, I'm done" moment.

Americans using the word propaganda for "something I don't understand because my school system failed me so now I overcompensate by making up factoids that make me look even more uneducated by the rest of the world"

If you're a fan of niche 90's guitars, you might remember Yamaha's take on the Telecaster: the Pacifica 102s. They didn't make many and they've got kind of a cult base , making it quite hard to find one.
Well they just announced a revamp on the model with the new Pacifica SC and my wallet is hiding scared in the corner.

Yeah but, but while one thing doesn't exclude the other, that wasn't the point of my comment. The point was that you should be able to drive under stress without panicking, no matter what. Otherwhise people get hurt.

I wanted to test the new federated social loops.video and since I gifted myself a new holiday project I though it would be cool to document it and share it with the FOSS community here on Lemmy.

Let me know what you think, Happy Holidays to everyone.

Always braid your cables kids, it helps with shielding

As I said in the last post I made, I had the intention to upgrade the guts of my newly bought guitar. I switched out potentiometers and pickup selector for something that wouldn't feel as cheap, added a coil split mode through push/push pot and added a treble bleed to brighten up the tone. Everything I needed I found on Thomann.

Here's the schematics I made with DIY Layout Creator, which is a really cool piece of free software that I can only recommend if you're into this sort of stuff. You can find it on FlatHub as well.

Did a walk-in tonight and I picked the most beautiful of them all

... but I had such a good deal with this guitar that I couldn't miss the opportunity.

I started being interested in this kind of design since Squier reissued the Toronado in its Paranormal series, based on an old Fender model discontinued in '06.
And I found out that Ibanez gave such a design a chance in 2012 with the Roadcore Series and in particular with this mid-tier model: the RC320.

While searching some information about it, I found a listing of a guy selling one not far from where I live. It was a really, really good bargain so I ended up buying it.

The guitar is a distillate of features from all the most iconic guitars manufactured in the last century: it has a mahogany body and humbuckers like a Les Paul or a PRS, an offset shape like a Jazzmaster/Jaguar, a 648mm scale and a bolt on maple neck with rosewood board like a Stratocaster, but with a flat radius and the crazy low action only Ibanez can make.
And as an upgrade, the previous owner installed a couple of Blues Engines pickups, that have a very apt name given the warm tones they produce.

I have in mind over the next months to upgrade the electronics and since the humbuckers are splittable, add a push/push potentiometer to experiment with an alternative configuration. I'll try to post some pictures of the job.
