- Eat more billionaires

Another “rift in the MAGA movement” headline? Really? Come up with something original.
God how I miss living in an urban area. Until two years ago, I'd bike with my kids to their school every day. Where we are now, it's 10 miles of deathtrap pavement away. ☹️ I wouldn't feel comfortable riding most of it on my own, let alone with my kids.
Fuck cars. Quality of life is so much higher when you don't have to depend on them.
You absolutely can store HIPAA data in the cloud.
Latency is one of the big selling points for Outposts. They have customers wanting to control industrial equipment from their cloud resources, but the nearest AWS region is too far away to provide the low latency connectivity they need. With Outposts, they get the cloud, but with on-prem network latency.
For many people, I suspect the answer would be “Fuck yeah, finally the leash is coming off!”
Not at all surprising if you watch the billionaire provided media.
I really wish people would understand that billionaires don't speak for "America" and that their interests are almost exactly opposed to the interests of regular people. This is the case regardless of where on the political spectrum your beliefs happen to lie.
Best of luck.
That was David Brin in The Transparent Society. He has continued to riff on the theme periodically since then.
“I’m gonna tell my daddy on you. Then you’re in real trouble!”
When the No Kings protest happens every single day, things will change. Until then, it’s an inconvenience to be waited out, nothing more.
There’s a small group of committed people in my small town who protest every week, but we’re a long way from getting something of the scale of the No Kings protests.
A friend of a friend studies the spread of conspiracy theories. A while back (during the first Trump admin, IIRC) I was talking to them and they mentioned that there are pretty much just as many conspiracies on the left as on the right. The big difference is that the left doesn’t have Fox News (the most widely watched TV news in the US) amplifying their conspiracy theories.
