Speakers don’t hum, stereos (and other sources) do. Cheap stereos use cheap components. Cheap components are electronically noisy and poorly shielded and hum.

A Deepness in the Sky is also by VV and is, IMO, so much better than AFUTD. If you haven’t read it yet, you ought!

Children of Time is also exploration based. And good. But not nearly as good as a A Deepness in the Sky.

If there was any TV show that was cancelled or cut short that you could see the planned continuation/ending of, which would you choose? in c/asklemmy@lemmy.world

What are these tiny bugs that appeared on our Casio keyboard? (sopuli.xyz)

Yesterday my son noticed these bugs on our keyboard. There were dozens in total. The pictures were the biggest ones. They were maybe the size of a ballpoint pen ball in total diameter (much flatter, obviously).

I assumed they were spiders. Wiped them up. And dumped them in the garbage outside.

Then I noticed dozens more, much smaller, still, along the piano.

I those up, too, this time with rubbing alcohol hoping pick them up and even kill them off.

But now I’m worried they were seed ticks?? Yuck.

Anyway. Anyone know for sure? This is in Wisconsin.

I have a couple more pics, but they aren’t much better. I should have taken a video…
