The log reading workaround seems to solve that issue in my case. The only catch is that I need to allow this permission once (there's a graphical prompt - the adb commands aren't needed) when I start the app for the first time, or after force-quitting the background app.
@BrodieOnLinux@mstdn.social made a video about these changes, I think.
It doesn't appear to have had updates recently, but wtype might do the trick.
Perhaps it's because I haven't subscribed to a lot of communities here (Lemmy), but I find Mastodon (and Sharkey by extension due to their federation with Mastodon instances) more active than Lemmy.
I've got an account in programming.dev (Lemmy), fosstodon.org (Mastodon) and fedia.social (IceShrimp ≈ Sharkey, loosely). I've also got a very inactive Reddit account.
Getting rid of Windows, Instagram and Reddit, switching to Linux, Mastodon (not a direct comparison) and Lemmy.
