The man was suffering unnecessarily and was not allowed to make a totally legal decision about his own body. The transfer system is what it is and it certainly wasn't going to change in the time he had left. Your "systems viewpoint" is irrelevant.

To compare how far each platform has advanced across computing, simulation, networking, and sensing, the researchers used large language AI models such as ChatGPT and Gemini to estimate technology-readiness levels (TRL).

They asked ChatGPT? That's the paper?

Canada is an independent country, thank you.

Unfortunately Bill 14 does away with the rule that you can't have two referendums on the same issue within five years. The Forever Canadian question that is now before the Legislature is very clear: "Do you agree that Alberta should remain in Canada?"

[–] leastaction@lemmy.ca 4 points 2 months ago

No, what the fuck is the UCP doing.

An obvious bluff. If it comes to that, the US needs NORAD more than we do. Also, the US can no longer be considered an ally.

Bessent is on record saying that Alberta should separate from Canada and join the United States, and the UCP government is doing its best to make that happen. The way to put a stop to this is by mobilizing. Last year we collected nearly half a million signatures for the question “Do you agree that Alberta should remain in Canada?” to be put to a referendum. The initiative was approved by Elections Alberta and it is now before the Alberta Legislature. The campaign continues. Please join us at forever-canadian.ca .

This would be a terrible concession to a corporation that produces AI agents that drive teenagers to suicide. There are people in the government that still believe that the best way to deal with Trump and his corporate associates is to appease them. The evidence is clear that this assumption is horribly misguided.

Why on Earth would anyone go to Google for news.

The Forever Canadian citizens' initiative to call a referendum on the question "Do you agree that Alberta should remain in Canada?" collected over 400,000 signatures and was approved and sent to the Speaker of the Legislature by Elections Alberta. The UCP government must call either a vote in the Legislature or a referendum on the question by law. The only way they can avoid this is by calling a general election. Albertans can and will stop this separation nonsense.

Just do it. Put something like Linux Mint on your Mac. It'll work fine. And it's free.

"One of the many routes for Canadian arms is through the United States loophole: Canadian-made deadly munitions and components are exported to the US, which are then transferred to Israel as military aid. By shipping arms to the US to be assembled into fighter jets, attack helicopters, and other deadly weapons systems that are actively massacring Palestinians in Gaza, Canada evades arms trade regulations and circumvents its responsibilities as a state party to the Arms Trade Treaty."

Heads up! Please be aware that you will have to be registered with Elections Alberta at voterlink.ab.ca before August 15 in order to be able to vote in the municipal election on October 20.
